Both of my theses deal with AI in marketing: the bachelor's thesis with how it is used in content production, and the master's thesis with how consumers respond to it. Both are available to read in full below, in Finnish.

What the studies covered

The Marketing Management programme focused on consumer understanding, research methods and developing digital business. The studies included both qualitative and quantitative research, and in the working life project a marketing problem was solved for a real organisation.

A business administration degree with a digital business specialisation. The studies combined sales, marketing and e-commerce with hands-on projects based on real client assignments. In the project workshop I worked as a team lead and as an instructor for an international group.

Generative AI videos on TikTok

A discourse analysis of how consumers interpret AI-generated videos. The data consists of TikTok comments on both advertising content and entertainment videos.

  • Five discourses identified: authenticity and suspicion, meme and humour, spectacle and entertainment, ideological and political, and meta-discussion
  • Key finding: in entertainment content AI is accepted, but in advertising it is linked to inauthenticity and a loss of brand credibility
  • Recommendations: transparent communication, platform fit and protecting the brand's core values

Using ChatGPT in content marketing

A practice-based thesis on how a micro entrepreneur can use ChatGPT in marketing. It was completed in December 2023, when AI was only starting to become part of everyday marketing work.

  • Theory on marketing areas and the background of ChatGPT, plus hands-on experiments with the tool
  • Output: a three-part tutorial video series on YouTube for micro entrepreneurs
